Hi, my name is Polly Polka Dot and I am so happy to be part of One of a Kind Events. I was a One of a Kind Bride and when I was planning my wedding, things got very hectic and sometimes I got frustrated and upset. Then I remembered what my father told me a long time ago – when life starts to get you down, you just have to play the “positive game”. So each time that people or circumstances would throw me a curve ball and I started to get upset, I would try to see the positive in that situation and look for the bright side. For example, when I wanted a full band and bar for my reception and my dad said that there was not enough money for all of those things, I was happy that my parents were helping to pay for the wedding. We got creative and found an incredible DJ who kept the party moving all night long and came up with a couple of personalized custom cocktails to cut down on bar costs and it was SOOO much more fun! I also ran into problems with all of my relatives trying to take over and plan my wedding for me. Family relationships can be so tricky, sometimes! But again, I was thankful that so many people loved me and wanted to help. I told them that I already had plans of how I wanted my day to look and feel but I would love their help in specific areas to make the week work. I asked my aunts to host the bridesmaids’ luncheon and let them pick the place, theme and décor. My grandmother wanted to make all the flowers, I told her that I had already chosen a professional florist but I would love to have her decorate the gift table and make me a small silk bouquet to throw. My mom was with me all the way, sometimes helping and sometimes making me crazy but then I remembered my friend whose mom passed away and wasn’t able to help her or be at her wedding and I was very grateful for my mom’s love and support.
Then I found the women at One of a Kind Events. They all play the positive game every day and when I started to lose my smile, I would call them and they were so wonderful at helping me regain my Pollyanna attitude. They believe that every bride should have a wonderful wedding experience. They listen and care and are so much fun!!!
